May is Better Sleep month… so there’s no better time to consider what’s under your covers and how a quality mattress can enhance your sleep! One mattress company that is committed to “green, natural, and organic” sleep products as well as education around their products is Natura World. Their blog is filled with interesting posts – from a product guide outlining differences of their 5 unique product lines to a sneak peek at celebrities who sleep on Natura mattresses. (If Halle Berry and Matthew McConaughey love Natura, then I’m in!)
Not only is Natura about education, but they also know how to have fun! Check out the Natura Facebook page for pics of friendly faces from many of their team members and see posts from several fans for their mattress and pet bed giveaway contests.
Some Natura mattresses use Preserve™ foam made in part with soy-based BiOH® polyols. (Another reason to like them!) Given our mutual commitment to education, I was happy to share information for their latest blog post for them to educate on soy foams.

I just want to thank everyone who took action from our last post to join and recruit others for our Facebook Cause. We reached our goal of 1,000 members on Tuesday, May 19… a week and a half early! A donation has been made to The Nature Conservancy for their Plant A Billion campaign to plant 1000 trees in the Atlantic Forest of Brazil. As of today, the campaign has planted 5,177,376 trees… so they have a ways to go to reach their goal of one billion!

In the spirit of Earth Day, we kicked off an effort to support The Nature Conservancy and their Plant a Billion Campaign. We have started a Facebook Cause with a goal for 1,000 members by May 31, 2009. For every member who joins the cause (up to 1,000 people!) , the BiOH® Polyols business will donate $1 to the campaign which plants 1 tree in Brazil’s Atlantic Forest.
The trees will be planted by Conservancy staff and partners. According to The Nature Conservancy, the Atlantic Forest is considered one of the world’s most endangered forests. Tropical forests play a special role in fighting global climate change. The Nature Conservancy estimates that this reforestation effort to plant a billion trees will remove 10 million tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere every year – which they say is equivalent to taking 2 million cars off the road!
